We believe strong communities need arts, culture, and opportunities for people to learn, grow, and connect.
In 2021, when music funding through the local college was eliminated in Grande Prairie, community members stepped up to ensure local musicians still had a place to learn, perform, and connect, and the community could continue to enjoy live music. Their efforts led to the creation of the Grande Prairie Music Society (GPMS), and Saltmedia was proud to become a sponsor.
It was a cause close to our hearts. Alex Saltman, our Partner and VP of Technology, was already performing with both the orchestra and wind ensemble and shared the community's passion for keeping music alive in Grande Prairie.
To keep the music playing, we donated our services to build their logo, brand, website, and designed their posters and programs.
Last year alone, we donated more than $7,500 in service to support the GPMS, along with website hosting and ongoing technical support. This year, we're continuing to help behind the scenes through graphic design, website updates, hosting, and maintenance, so the society can focus on what it does best: bringing music to the community of Grande Prairie.
Today, the Grande Prairie Music Society is a non-profit organization that supports five community ensembles: the Jazz Band, Grande Prairie Marching Band, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and Youth Orchestra.
