The lucky recipient of the 3rd annual Website Giveaway is (drumroll please) The Grande Prairie Community Symphony Orchestra!
Congratulations to our lucky winner and thank you to all of the other applicants for your entries, your work and passion makes us proud to be a member of your community.
2015 Website Winner
To show our continued appreciation and support for Not-For-Profit organizations, we have continued the Peace Country Website Giveaway in 2015.
Saltmedia had many applications for this years website giveaway. We thank all that applied, the Peace Region is truly blessed to have so many not for profit and charities that support the north.
It was a tough decision, but the lucky winner was the Grande Prairie Secret Angels; a local group that assists families in need with fresh food and gifts from sponsors. Families are secretly nominated by someone who cares about them.
The GP Secret Angels story touched our hearts and we are looking forward to helping them spread their wings and reach a little further

2014 Website Winner
To show our immense appreciation and ongoing support for Not-For-Profit organizations, we launched the first-ever Peace Country Website Giveaway in 2014. Saltmedia reached out to the Grand Spirit Foundation, a group that works to provide reasonably priced housing and quality care to seniors and families in Grande Prairie and the surrounding areas.
The Foundation supplied us with the content and we designed a website that can be navigated from any web browsing device and read with ease. Saltmedia also trained members of the Foundation so that they could quickly and easily update their new site themselves. Check out the website we designed for the Grande Spirit Foundation - completely free of charge.
"Saltmedia responded to our request for a website quote with an offer to donate their work as part of a community initiative to support local non-profits. We were surprised and thrilled with their generosity. The whole Saltmedia team was friendly, professional and very easy to work with. They offered great suggestions and had a quick response time both during the project and afterward while providing ongoing support. The Grande Spirit Foundation would recommend Saltmedia to any company looking for an experienced team to design a creative, modern and functional website."Samantha Stuart - Grande Spirit Foundation
Saltmedians Show their Community How Much they Care, Every Chance they Get
▐ Feathers and Fiddles Fundraiser Event
We are a proud sponsor of the first ever Feathers and Fiddles Metis Local fundraiser! It was a great success and we loved working with Metis Local 1990 on the event, we can hardly wait for next year!
▐ Women 4 Women
As a business woman, Angie loves to do what she can to empower other women, offering them the help and support they need to improve their lives. This group was co-founded by Angie Saltman near the end of 2014. Since then, she has met countless wonderful, powerful and inspiring women and fully recognizes the value that this organization has to offer the women in her community.
▐ Canadian Council For Aboriginal Business
Saltmedia is part of a growing trend, Canada has seen a boom in the number of Aboriginal owned businesses. We are proud to be among those numbers of Aboriginal people who are pursuing their dreams, creating employment opportunities and contributing to our nation’s economy. So pround we became a member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business CCAB.
▐ Canadian Mental Health
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is very near and dear to the heart of Saltmedia, and both Alex and Angie are members. Having witnessed a family member's struggle with schizophrenia, Angie understands the importance of support systems like those provided by the CMHA. To show her support for this valuable organization, she has been on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta Northwest Region (CMHA ANWR) since 2011, and in 2013/2014, Angie became an executive board member and sat as Vice Chair.
Angie has volunteered hundreds of hours, updating the CMHA website, creating marketing plans and contributing to the organization's strategic planning and executive decision making processes.
▐ Rotary Club of Grande Prairie After Five
As a chartered member, Angie was asked to create a logo for the After Five Club when it started. She was happy to create the logo and other branding graphic design for what she felt was such a worthwhile cause.
Then, in 2014, Saltmedia donated a logo and related branding for the Club's first official fundraiser, The McClelland Oilfield Rentals GP100 Soap Box Derby. Angie volunteered at this awesome organization from 2012 to 2014, when she left because of other volunteering obligations. Angie still believes and abides by the Rotary 4 Way test!
▐ Canadian Cancer Society
In 2014, Alex was the volunteer coordinator for Relay for Life - something that happened entirely by mistake but was such a rewarding experience, he intends to volunteer for this worthy cause again, in 2015. You see, while developing the volunteer service bureau website, Alex added his name to test the database and forgot to delete it afterwards. A couple of months later, Alex received a call from Relay director, Sandi Hunter, who was looking for volunteers. Must have been fate that Alex should come to learn the great value that this organization adds to our community!
▐ Sunrise Rotary of Grande Prairie
Since 2012, Saltmedia has donated one-of-a-kind sculptures (made by Angie) to this Club's annual fundraiser. As a person who loves to create and get her hands dirty, Angie has enjoyed every minute of the literally hundreds of hours she's spent designing, planning and creating sculptures to donate. In 2012, Saltmedia donated 'the Headless Horseman, Succubus Sue;' in 2013, a sculpture in which Angie entitled 'Haunted Panorama;' and a piece called 'Fall Air Fever' in 2014. Each sculpture has sold for approximately $500.
▐ Grande Prairie Volunteer Services
The very first time Angie volunteered, she called VSB to gather info about volunteering. Later, VSB contacted Saltmedia looking for a new logo and were so impressed with our creative graphic design skills that they hired our team to develop their new website. Since then, we have supported this worthwhile organization through sponsorship and by providing them with some free design services.
▐ Business Networking International (BNI)
Since the chapter started in 2012, Angie has been working with BNI Northern Connections. Business Networking International is Saltmedia's referral network, an organization that promotes the building of strong relationships between businesses and organizations throughout Grande Prairie. For 2015/2016, Angie will be serving as secretary treasurer.
▐ Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber works to support local businesses like Saltmedia, bringing us together with other businesses and like-minded individuals in our community. Saltmedia joined the Chamber of Commerce in 2010 and has since enjoyed and benefited from attending the mixers and other events that the local Chamber has hosted. In 2014, Saltmedia was honored to design the Chamber's Centennial logo and brand.
▐ Canadian Diabetes Association
Angie and Alex have been donating gently used household items to the Canadian Diabetes Association every couple of months, since 2005. Recognizing that every little bit can help this totally worthwhile and awesome cause, they're happy to offer their support whenever possible.
