Websites

Through this complex project, we created four websites. Mistahiya Development Corporation is the economic development arm of Saulteau First Nations, and there are a variety of companies under their umbrella. We built the main Mistahiya website, along with separate sites for their companies.

The websites include:

  • Mistahiya Development Corporation – full website build
  • North Wind Supplies – full website build with ecommerce
  • ASKI reclamation – full website build

Brand Development

Although Mistahiya oversees some very different companies, they all needed to appear cohesive under the corporation. Through our Discovery process, we took the time to really understand both their values and goals as well as the vision they had for their branding and graphics. Then, we created a complete brand package for each of their companies that included custom logos, a brand guide, letterhead, email signatures, PowerPoint presentations, and business cards.

Now, no matter which company a customer is interacting with, it’s clear they’re all part of the Mistahiya family.

Writing

We provided the majority of the content for all the websites. Again, it was important that the tone and voice of all the content fit within the Mistahiya brand while still reflecting the uniqueness of each company.

Hosting

We’re pleased to keep Mistahiya’s data secure and their website loading quickly through hosting at our data center located on Treaty 8 Territory in Edmonton Alberta.

Graphic Design

The bear is an important part of Indigenous culture, and we loved creating a log around this powerful, protective animal for Mistahiya. The rest of the graphics followed the inspiration from their logo, and together we created a very cohesive brand and image for them.

About

As the development arm for Saulteau First Nations, Mistahiya carries great responsibility and opportunity. With a vision of creating wealth for future generations, they are leveraging the power of multiple companies every day. From a retail industrial supply company (North Winds Supplies) to land reclamation (ASKI reclamation), they are providing employment, income, and pride to members of the Saulteau Frist Nations.

Challenge

The need for quick turnover (especially for the North Winds Supply website) along with the size of the sites created some big challenges. On top of that, we were building both the websites and the visuals (branding) from scratch.

Insight

We were fortunate to be able to work closely with Mistahiya’s CEO to ensure that each unique aspect reflected the corporation’s vision while meeting their extremely tight timeline.

Results

As is the case with many of our clients, this project was not our final contact with them. We were able to build a cohesive set of websites that gives Mistahiya a clear brand and look while still expressing the uniqueness of each company. We continue to work together on various projects and are grateful for the opportunities to serve this fantastic corporation.
